La Chorrera Inaugurates Its First Digital Interactive Classroom

In La Chorrera, Panama Oeste province, the first digital interactive classroom was inaugurated. This initiative is part of a national project driven by the country's Rotary clubs, with the support of The Rotary Foundation, educational authorities, and community partners. The classroom is designed to enhance the teaching of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through advanced digital tools. It is equipped with 30 laptops and a specialized charging cart, allowing each student to have a device for every class session. The project, costing approximately B/.15,000.00, was carried out by the Rotary Club of La Chorrera, which will also be responsible for its maintenance, training, and long-term impact monitoring. According to Miriam de Sugasti, president of the club, students will have access to high-quality digital resources, facilitating the development of their digital skills and collaborative learning. Throughout the school year, fourth-grade students and above will have access to the classroom on a rotational basis, ensuring all groups can use this technology. This classroom is part of a national program aimed at improving education through technology, with total estimated investments of B/.500,000.00 nationwide.
